Chords: ‘Keliru’ by Ruth Sahanaya

Finally interpreted the music into a chord sheet! I’ve been searching for the chords to ‘Keliru’ by Ruth Sahanaya for a long time, but my search has always yielded only lyrics for me. In my frustration, I decided that I’m gonna just exploit my play-by-ear talent and interpret the music myself. Took me an afternoon to interpret and perfect the score. Should I be able to get my hands on a music writing program, I will probably write the fake score (melody notes + chords).

Upon completion, I thought about keeping it to myself, but I believe, there must be people like me who would love to play it. Then, I decided to post it up. Just a disclaimer, the chords are of my own interpretation. I’m not a guitarist by talent, but a pianist, so my chords might differ slightly in variations. All players out there, do make your own interpretation, but I can say confidently, that the root chords are correct.

Hint: You can check the video out and figure the chords out simultaneously.

Special fund to help creative people

GEORGE TOWN: The Government plans to set up the Content Development Fund to aid people with creative talent.

“We will come up with some framework towards the setting-up of the fund in a month or two.

“This will help to create jobs for those trained in the various institutions of higher learning,” Information Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek said.

“We want those in the animation, entertainment and related industries to have an avenue in terms of content especially in the three years to come.

“There are many talented people in this field but they have no outlet to display their works and by the time RTM goes digital in 2012, more jobs will be available,’’ he told a press conference here yesterday.

He said that Deputy Prime Minis ter Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had agreed in principle to the establishment of the fund.

On criticisms over RTM’s move towards the digital system, he said other countries were already heading in the direction and that Asean countries had been given until 2015 to go digital.

He said if Malaysia kept on using the analog system, spare parts might not be available in the future.

“We have to start somewhere, and we are starting off with the restructuring system.

“Imagine if there is a national disaster in 2015, and RTM is still using the analog system and something goes wrong, what will happen then?’’ he said.

Life in KL

Project GOssip KL is going live in a month! Time has passed really fast, without realizing, I’ve been working on this project for close to 2 months. So what’s after KL? Well, immediately after the 27th of September, I am taking a 3-days holiday to do nothing but sleep,read,online,window shopping,eat. Yes, I need to recharge before taking on Project GOssip Penang, STEPS and YouthWeek, all happening next year except for Project GOssip Penang. So, for all you Penang folks, I will be going up to Penang frequently to get ready for the biggest party every come December.

People have asked me, “Do you like your job?” I say, yeah, why not? “It doesn’t have a fix pay right? Aren’t you considered like freelancing?” To a certain extent, it seems like it. But not exactly. “But you work crazy hours!” I have always been working crazy hours since I entered uni and joined with Janet and gang. It is just a continuation.

I’m just sort of glad that I’m not working a 8-5 job, because I know I won’t survive the first week. It’s rigid, and it is basically restraining my movements, the period of time that I work. And I can’t plonk my ass down in one seat for the rest of the day. I need to move around, run around, meet people, walk while talking on the phone etc. Nevermind that my life will be hectic throughout the whole project, because at the end of it, I will seek redemption of sleep and rest.

But then again, not everyone could adapt to work in a freelancing world. Some people need those working-hour structure to keep things in check. Some people need to compartmentalize, that at a certain hour- it is for work, on some other hours- it is for leisure. Most of the time, I don’t have the luxury of watching tv idly for the whole night after work. It is like, my laptop never left my side. I return home, eat and bathe, then I will sneak some tv time for me to chill, then I’m at the laptop again. At times, when the neccessity calls for it, I have to go out at night to meet up with friends, just to have discussions. Something similiar to my life in Penang- hardly a moment in the house, I’m packing my bag and off to another meeting. However, in KL, it’s a different story. I cannot be that free anymore, because of concerns from family.

I love KL for its hectic pulse, the going-ons. I love walking KL streets or driving for that matter. Because there is so much to feel, so much to observe. Penang, however, feels like the backyard of my house, where there are endless little lanes that i can cycle or dodge around. It’s a place of familiar faces and familiar things, it has a sense of community. I guess one good thing about me is, I adapt to most situations pretty well. You can plonk me in most places, and I will be alive and kicking. Beyond Malaysia, I think Singapore will interest me because it is a combination of KL and Penang, to me. However, the pulse of each place is not the most important criteria for me to survive, it is the company (friends). With great company, anywhere is fine.

After a long leave of absence…

I haven’t blogged for ages. To be precise, since I started working in KL a month back. Life has been sweet, tense and exciting. The business side of me is coming out, yet I’m staying strong and focussed on the cause ahead.

Am now working without the aid of my specs because it broke yesterday. That would be my favourite specs that I made in Penang after my previous one was stolen. I was so pissed, and I needed to work, so I went to the nearest focus point and made a pair. Which I kinda regretted a bit because they dint have much of a design selection, and I couldn’t haggle the price as it came in a package. Thinking at hind sight, I could have just bought dailies contact lenses while waited to go Penang and make it in one of the optical shops in Sungai Dua that offers student prices. Aku benci ni, sia-sia aku keluarkan duit. To make matters worse, I just spent RM133 to buy 2 books for my self-reading, which I feel will help me understand my job better. Now, that was intended spending; the specs, no. Sometimes, I can get pretty impulsive, I will lose the rationality. It’s good, for the right reasons, because sometimes I plan too much. I need some spontaneous events to keep me balanced.

I still love my broken specs because it suited me so well. It was just so meant for me lar. In terms of shape, style and size. My plan now is to live with the new specs, if I really cant tahan it, I will make a new one in Penang come December and when I get paid.
